An exhibition associated with the conference Researching beyond words. Investigating architectural research by drawing can be viewed at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Lyon from 30 November 2023 to 12 January 2024 (3 rue Maurice Audin, 69120 Vaulx-en-Velin).

It brings together a selection of drawings by researchers and/or designers involved in research in the fields of architecture, urban planning, landscape and land use planning.

The drawings on display show practices ‘beyond words’ that researchers and/or designers develop to observe, describe, annotate, abstract, schematise, measure, analyse, project, question and problematise, etc. This 'research by drawing' opens up new perspectives for (re)thinking architectural research and the issues it raises. They reveal a committed and non-neutral gaze of reality that influences the research production.
